The Central Marin Police Authority is a full service Police agency for the communities of Larkspur, Corte Madera, and San Anselmo. The communities consolidated police services on January 1, 2013 after two years of planning and public discussion.
The Central Marin Police Authority was formed under a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between the Town of Corte Madera, City of Larkspur and the Town of San Anselmo. Two members from each City/Town Council sit on and represent the Central Marin Police Council. Overall management of the Police Authority is the function of the Management Committee comprised of the City and Town Managers of each jurisdiction.
Operational function of the Authority is assigned to the Chief of Police. The Central Marin Police Authority has 50 full-time employees (42 sworn).
The Authority provides police services to our communities comprising of approximately 35,000 residents.
