Each year, more than 1,000 children nationwide are killed and more than 7,000 children are injured by guns. All too often, in our own Bay Area, we are learning about accidents and homicides that involve children and guns.
In an attempt to insure that our children are safe in their homes, our schools and the community, the Marin County District Attorney and the Marin County Sheriff have joined with the Marin County Office of Education in order to remind families to be sure that any guns that they may own are safely stored so they cannot be stolen or accessed by children in their homes.
