Every year, hundreds of bicycles are stolen throughout the County of Marin.
Often, it is impossible to identify stolen bicycles due to a lack of records keeping.
Accordingly, The Central Marin Police Authority has instituted a Bicycle Registry Program. This free and voluntary law enforcement, community driven service is aimed at creating a local database of resident bicycles so that, in the event of loss or theft, the likelihood of recovery will increase, through accurate record keeping and theft awareness measures.
Through partnership with community organizations and local cycling related businesses, the Central Marin Police Authority hopes to increase bicycle theft awareness, reduce the number of stolen and unrecovered bicycles, and to educate the Central Marin cycling community about cycle safety, security, and theft prevention.
Registration services are currently available during regular business hours at both Central Marin Police facilities.
