The Investigations Division investigates felony and misdemeanor crimes, identifies and apprehends offenders, recovers stolen property and contraband, and prepares cases for criminal prosecution.
Criminal Investigations: Detectives are assigned to investigate crimes against persons and property within the communities. Detectives are also assigned to specialty areas that often require special training such as residential burglaries, commercial burglaries, automobile thefts and burglaries, bicycle thefts, missing persons, elder abuse, narcotics, financial institution crimes, identity theft, and computer crimes. Detectives are also in charge of monitoring and updating Critical Reach TRAK flyers, subjects on parole and probation, gangs, and pawn shops. Detectives are available to assist outside agencies with criminal investigations.
